The Blue House captures a fleeting moment of quiet beauty discovered in the everyday. I wasn’t searching for artistic inspiration when I encountered this weathered house while crossing a road in Niwai; its striking blue façade simply caught my attention and stayed with me.
The vibrant blues of the building are contrasted with warm ochres and earthy tones, creating a palette that recalls the architectural character of Rajasthan and the timeless visual identity of Jodhpur’s blue streets.
Rather than attempting to document the house exactly as it exists, the painting celebrates the poetry of an ordinary space — the way a seemingly unremarkable moment can suddenly become visually significant. Through colour, architecture, and memory, the familiar is transformed into something that lingers beyond the moment in which it was first seen.
