About the Artist

A practice rooted in movement, texture, and emotion.

Dr. Arushi Rana is an Indian contemporary artist and Assistant Professor with a PhD, and a Gold Medalist in her Master’s degree. Her artistic practice operates at the intersection of emotion, environment, and consciousness, informed by both lived experience and rigorous academic inquiry.

Trained as a geographer and environmental researcher, her work translates psychological landscapes, ecological memory, and spiritual symbolism into abstract, process-driven compositions. She works with oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas, often at a large scale, allowing layered surfaces to evolve like terrain.

Alongside her artistic practice, she has authored more than 20 academic publications and has supervised two research thesis projects. Her work has been exhibited internationally at Dacia Gallery, New York, and Plogix Gallery, London, and in India at Kalaneri Gallery, Jaipur, among other curated exhibitions. For her, art functions as a parallel mode of knowledge, where inner geographies meet collective experience.
